DIRECTIONS TO THE ABS-CBN PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA AUDITIONS: Auditions will be held at the DOLPHY THEATER, inside the ABS-CBN Compound Diliman, Quezon City. Applicants/Auditionees will be accommodated and received at the ABS-CBN AUDIENCE ENTRANCE along ELJ DRIVE and fronting WIL Condominium (under construction). To get to the AUDIENCE ENTRANCE, several options are available:

1. TAKE THE MRT Get off the train at QUEZON AVENUE Station Take a tricycle along PANAY AVENUE (near KFC) and ask the driver to take you to the ABS-CBN AUDIENCE ENTRANCE along ELJ DRIVE.

2. TAKE THE BUS Along EDSA (southbound), get off the bus at PANAY AVENUE near MRT’s QUEZON AVENUE STATION. Take a tricycle along PANAY AVENUE (near KFC) and ask the driver to take you to the ABS-CBN AUDIENCE ENTRANCE along ELJ DRIVE.

3. TAKE THE CAB Ask the driver to take you to the ABS-CBN AUDIENCE ENTRANCE along ELJ DRIVE.

4. BRING YOUR OWN CAR Coming from south, take EDSA. Pass through Cubao tunnel. Stay at the leftmost lane and enter Kamuning underpass. Drive ahead. Take the U-turn slot below the TIMOG Fly-Over. Turn right upon reaching TIMOG AVENUE. Turn right at Sgt. ESGUERRA ST. (with traffic light). Drive straight ahead then turn left at ELJ DRIVE. ABS-CBN AUDIENCE ENTRANCE is at the right side (fronting WIL Condominium Project).

A. Free parking is available around ABS-CBN COMPOUND on a first-come first-served basis.

B. Paid parking is available at Basement 1 of the ABS-CBN ELJ Building. Drive straight ahead until you reach the ELJ Parking Entrance (fronting Gerry’s Grill). After parking, take the service stairs going to the ground floor and exit the building passing through the door near Gram’s Diner and Starbucks. Walk around 50 meters to the left to get to the ABS-CBN AUDIENCE ENTRANCE.

C. Valet parking is also available at the ground floor of ELJ Building Entrance.

AT THE AUDIENCE ENTRANCE: An area is designated for ABS-CBN PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA’s applicants/auditionees. Once your name is verified per list, you will be directed to the DOLPHY THEATER. Wait at the theater lobby until your name is called. Good luck.

POST AUDITIONS: After the auditions, please exit to the place where you were received for auditions.

REMINDERS:

1. Please come an hour before your scheduled audition time.

2. Please bring valid ID. If traveling with a companion and/or accompanist, please advise them to bring valid ID as well.

3. Printed excerpts and sight-reading material will be at the venue.

Auditions: In a nutshell

The ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra will be holding auditions on April 23-27, 2012 from 10AM to 4PM at the Dolphy Theater, ABS-CBN compound, Quezon City.

About the auditions….

To those who have asked questions, thank you very much for you interest.  To make things easier for everyone, here’s a little list of things to remember about the audition:

1.  Where – ABS CBN Studio 1, Quezon City

2.  When – 10AM to 4PM, April 23-27, 2012.

3.  IMPORTANT: You must e-mail a completed application.  Please download the form (either PDF or Word Doc) here:  https://abscbnphilharmonic.wordpress.com/2012/03/30/audition-application-form/
You will be given an audition slot only after you email the completed form, so please submit early.  Please remember, no e-mailed application = no audition.

4.  Where to e-mail the application form – absphilharmonic@gmail.com.  We suggest that you send in the completed application as a PDF document.  You can use Formulate Pro (OSX) or PDF Form Filler (Windows) to fill out the PDF, or alternatively you may print to PDF if you use the Word doc.

5.  The downloadable PDF excerpts are the orchestral excerpts that you will be expected to prepare for the audition.  Those are not the sight-reading materials.  Sight-reading material will only be seen at the audition itself.

6.  Piano accompaniment is optional.  There will be a tuned piano at the audition, and you may bring your own accompanist if you wish, at your own expense.
